First off here's a speedpainting I did, nothing special.
Here's a WIP painting of Samus, I dunno if I'll actually finish this, I was testing out foreshortening and being a bit cartoony with the proportions of her hips etc.
And last of all here are some gestures I did using the site http://www.posemaniacs.com/ it basically gives you a random pose and 30 seconds to draw it in, then it gives you another pose. I was finding it a bit hard to get the full figure down in 30 seconds so next time I might increase it to 45 seconds or so. Either way I think it could be a very valuable learning tool, hell I only did it for 30 minutes and I felt like I learnt something, especially about backs/female waist.

City on a ship
That weird thing in the distance is supposed to be a modern city atop a galleon flying through the sky.
2 new concepts
The first one is of some alien planet, I was going for a type of Marsy feel with the giant red stalagmites. Obligatory spaceships included.
The Second one is in some dank misty cave.

Sea orb
The thought behind this one was that some weird entity (maybe a god?) had been captured and sealed out in the middle of the ocean by humans (bit Cthulhu-ish). The orb was originally bound by chains to the pillars but somehow the god no longer slumbers and has control of the restraints.
Colourful concept
This painting originally had way more on the left that I cropped out because it looked silly, I was pretty much just messing around with colours on this one, bright purple sky and shadows etc.
Start of my blog
First of all, this blog was created for the purpose of being able to display various bits of finished and WIP art work that I do, so without further ado here's some digital painting studies I did using photographic references:
